Description
The newly established Gerig Lab at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Freshwater Sciences will be recruiting 1or 2 graduate students beginning in the Summer of 2025. Previous work that Gerig has led has focused on tributary-lake linkages, invasive species, and food web interactions in the Laurentian Great Lakes. Prospective students will work with Dr. Gerig to define thesis projects. Thesis or Dissertation topics may relate to projects in development related to juvenile lake sturgeon in the Milwaukee River estuary or Lake Trout at the Lake Michigan Midlake Reef complex. The School of Freshwater Sciences boasts excellent resources including field equipment, analytical labs, and various research vessels. Students with demonstrated experience with acoustic telemetry, statistics, and scientific writing are encouraged to reach out. Full tuition remission and competitive stipend will be offered. Applications for fall of 2025 are due end of January. Please reach out early if interested!
