Job Summary
We are a premier buffalo ranch in central South Dakota looking for a passionate and hands-on Ranch hand to help manage and enhance over 5,000 acres of pasture, hay ground, and wildlife areas. If you’re eager to work in a dynamic environment with diverse wildlife—including deer, antelope, birds, and buffalo—this is the perfect opportunity for you. 

This full-time, year-round position offers a mix of indoor and outdoor work, using modern, well-maintained equipment with all the comforts of heat and A/C. 

Key Responsibilities: 

·         Maintain and improve existing pasture/rangeland 
·         Maintain forage areas and food plots for both wildlife and livestock 
·         Operate a variety of equipment, including tractors, skid loaders, sprayers, planters, mowers, rakes, balers, and UTVs/ATVs 
·         Care for buffalo: fence repair, water system maintenance, sorting, feeding, and general livestock management 
·         Perform basic building, vehicle, and equipment maintenance 

Qualifications: 

·         Self-motivated, with a positive, hard-working attitude and a “Conservative Farm Boy” mentality. 
·         Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
·         Flexibility to adapt to varying work conditions and responsibilities. 
·         Willingness to work long hours, and weekends as needed 
·         Ability to solve a wide range of challenges. 

Helpful Education and/or Experience: 

·         Background in Agronomy, Animal Science, Ecology, Conservation Biology, Soil Science, Horticulture, Range Management, Upland Game Ecology, or related fields.
