Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented GIS & Environmental Data Intern to support our environmental research and sustainability initiatives through geospatial analysis and data management. This position is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), environmental data analysis, and mapping technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, process, and analyze environmental data using GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and remote sensing tools.
  • Assist in creating spatial datasets, maps, and visualizations to support environmental assessments.
  • Conduct geospatial analysis to identify trends in air quality, water resources, land use, and other environmental factors.
  • Support environmental impact assessments and regulatory compliance projects by providing GIS-based insights.
  • Integrate various datasets (satellite imagery, field data, government reports) into GIS platforms.
  • Automate data processing tasks using Python, R, or SQL for geospatial applications.
  • Prepare technical reports, maps, and presentations to communicate findings with stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on emerging GIS technologies and environmental data analysis trends.
Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Environmental Science, GIS, Geography, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and spatial data analysis techniques.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of environmental regulations, sustainability, and conservation principles.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
