Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented GIS & Environmental Data Intern to support our environmental research and sustainability initiatives through geospatial analysis and data management. This position is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), environmental data analysis, and mapping technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

Collect, process, and analyze environmental data using GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and remote sensing tools.
Assist in creating spatial datasets, maps, and visualizations to support environmental assessments.
Conduct geospatial analysis to identify trends in air quality, water resources, land use, and other environmental factors.
Support environmental impact assessments and regulatory compliance projects by providing GIS-based insights.
Integrate various datasets (satellite imagery, field data, government reports) into GIS platforms.
Automate data processing tasks using Python, R, or SQL for geospatial applications.
Prepare technical reports, maps, and presentations to communicate findings with stakeholders.
Stay updated on emerging GIS technologies and environmental data analysis trends.

Qualifications:

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Environmental Science, GIS, Geography, Data Science, or a related field.
Familiarity with GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and spatial data analysis techniques.
Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Understanding of environmental regulations, sustainability, and conservation principles.
Excellent communication and presentation skills to translate data into actionable insights.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
