Description
 Agency:  Georgia DNR – WRD – Fisheries Management – Stream Survey Program

 Position:  6-month seasonal technician: PSN 00152930 (Seasonal Nat Res Wkr) start early June 

Responsibilities:   Sampling stream fish throughout Georgia using backpack electrofishing and seining techniques, completing habitat and water quality assessments, repairing and maintaining sampling equipment, assisting with grounds work, data entry, life history and fish distribution research, and other duties as assigned.  Daily and overnight (1-3 nights per week) travel required.  Fieldwork days frequently extend beyond eight hours.  Lodging, travel reimbursement (per diem), sampling gear, and uniforms provided.
 
Qualifications:  Individuals with an interest in fisheries management, stream ecology, and/or ichthyology are encouraged to apply.  Applicants should be capable of performing long days of strenuous work in adverse conditions.  
 
Compensation:                 $14.00/hour, plus free housing and travel per diem
