Help the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) fulfill its mission: To protect and enhance Oregon's fish and wildlife and their habitats for use and enjoyment by present and future generations.
Are you a detail oriented administrative professional with a passion for working collaboratively to support an agency and its employees? If so, please consider joining our HR Records team as an HR Records Analyst at the ODFW headquarters in Salem, Oregon!
The Human Resource Division provides services to approximately 1,400 permanent, limited duration and seasonal employees in over 100 field locations throughout the state. The HR Records team provides technical and administrative support to the human resources staff and agency employees, ensuring the timely coordination and processing of human resources records and employee personnel actions.
What you will do:
You will administer personnel actions and ensure leave law compliance for the agency’s employees. This will involve coordination of the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Oregon Family Leave Act (OFLA), and Paid Leave Oregon requests, and processing personnel actions using our Human Resource Information System (HRIS), Workday. In addition, you will assist with recruitment functions and process criminal record and driving record checks for employees.

What we are looking for:
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior or Development, Business or Public Administration, the Applied Behavioral Sciences, Industrial Relations or a job-related course of study determined by the appointing authority; OR
- Valid Certification as a Professional in Human Resource awarded by the Human Resource Certification Institute, and one-year Human Resource experience; OR
- Three years Human Resource paraprofessional or technical-level experience.
NOTE:
The State Certified Human Resources Professional (SCHRP) certification, awarded by the Oregon Chief Human Resources Office, substitutes for six months of human resource professional-level experience.
Valid certification as a SHRM Certified Professional awarded by a nationally recognized organization, or valid certification as a PSHRA-CP from the Public Sector HR Association substitutes for one year of human resource professional-level experience.
Desired Attributes:
- • Using a Human Resource Information System (HRIS) to enter, look up, reference or validate employee information.
- • Implementing or administering laws, policies, and procedures, including interpreting and applying relevant regulations.
- Proficiency in record-keeping, data entry, and reviewing data for accuracy and completeness.
- • Reviewing, interpreting, and processing sensitive data and documents.
- Analytical skills including understanding concepts and identifying potential issues that may impact operations.
