Description
JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position provides remote and onsite technical assistance to resolve human-wildlife conflict in urban and suburban Metro-Atlanta. Provides onsite response to mitigate conflicts with big game (turkey, deer and bear), protected and other species as needed including capturing, relocating or euthanizing conflict or injured wildlife in accordance with agency policy and guidelines. Participate in 24/7 rotating on-call duties as afterhours emergency point of contact for Metro-Atlanta wildlife conflicts. Conduct and attend education and outreach events for municipalities and counties, homeowners’ associations, and similar stakeholders regarding urban/suburban wildlife management.

***** Successful candidate must reside within one of the following counties: Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Fayette, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, or Rockdale

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
NRT010 -Wildlife Technician 1 High school diploma or GED AND One year of work experience in natural resource management or related skilled trade.
NRT011 -Wildlife Technician 2 Associate's degree or equivalent coursework (90 quarter hours or 60 semester hours) in Wildlife Management or related field from an accredited college or university.  OR  High school diploma or GED  AND Two years of experience in the Wildlife Resources Division as a Wildlife Technician 1 (NRT010) or position equivalent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Preference may be given to applicants with:  • Experience working for Wildlife Resources Division • Employment history in wildlife management • Experience capturing and handling conflict wildlife species and big game species • A bachelor's degree in wildlife management
