Description
Are you passionate about wildlife research, eager to be in the field, and ready to take the next step in your conservation journey? We’re currently seeking a motivated, early-career researcher to join our team for a paid internship at the Bushveld Biodiversity Research Center, based in South Africa.
Location: The Bushveld Biodiversity Research Center is situated within a 27,000-hectare wildlife reserve that supports a diverse assemblage of fauna, including 17 antelope species and two members of the Big Five.
What You’ll Do:

What You’ll Do:
- Assist with and lead field data collection efforts.
- Supervise students.
- Oversee student involvement in field activities.
- Contribute to the operational management of field projects.
- Gain invaluable experience working across multiple ecosystems and species.
Who We’re Looking For:
- A candidate with at least a Master’s degree (a Ph.D. is strongly preferred).
- Someone actively engaged in fieldwork and enthusiastic about hands-on ecological research.
- An individual who can assist with research camp logistics and supervision.
- A young, energetic person ready to lead smaller field branches or projects.
- Someone with prior field experience, particularly in wildlife research or conservation settings.
Internship Details:
Position: Paid Internship
Salary: (ZAR) R4000.00/month
Start Date: Flexible
Duration: 3 Months*
*While the initial commitment is for three months, there may be opportunities to extend the internship based on performance, project needs, and mutual fit. We’re always looking to grow our team with individuals who show strong potential and work well with others.
