  • Implementing lake management programs based on the goals of the clients.
  • Transporting and stocking various fish species according to management plans.
  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing aeration systems, fish feeders, and other aquatic infrastructure.
  • Identifying and managing nuisance aquatic vegetation and algae.
  • Operating and maintaining boats, trailers, pumps, and other specialized equipment.
  • Maintaining detailed logs and records of all management activities and survey data.
  • Providing exceptional customer service and keeping clients informed.

Qualifications:

  • Experience or education in fisheries management, aquaculture, aquatic biology, or a related field is strongly preferred.

  • A strong personal passion for fishing and aquatic ecosystem health is essential.
  • Experience with fish identification and aquatic plant identification is a significant plus.
  • A state pesticide/herbicide applicator's license is highly desirable, or the willingness to obtain one.
  • Must be physically fit and able to perform strenuous outdoor tasks on or near water in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to work long hours and travel to various job sites as required.
  • Must be reliable, self-motivated, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Compensation & Work Schedule:

  • Hourly Wage: $18 - $22, based on experience.
  • Hours: 40 to 60-hour work weeks are typical, depending on the season and project demands.
  • Overtime: All hours worked over 40 in a week will be paid at time-and-a-half.
  • Benefits: 401k Retirement, Health Care Plan, Paid Vacation, Paid Time Off, Overtime Pay (*eligible for benefits after a 6-month probationary period).
  • Opportunity: This is a fantastic opportunity to build a career in the private fisheries industry and work with a leader in the field. We are looking to expand our reach and open new office locations. The opportunity to lead a new office will be presented to reliable and experienced Biologists when the time comes.
