Description
The natural resources specialist will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of our company's environmental sustainability efforts. This individual will work closely with our team of engineers, horticulturists, and designers to ensure that our irrigation systems are designed and implemented in an environmentally friendly and sustainable manner. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the sustainability efforts of our company.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Develop and implement strategies to maximize the efficiency of irrigation systems while minimizing the impact on natural resources.
2. Conduct site assessments and provide recommendations for sustainable irrigation practices.
3. Collaborate with the design and engineering team to develop innovative and environmentally friendly irrigation systems.
4. Monitor and analyze data on water usage and make recommendations for reduction strategies.
5. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and research to continuously improve our sustainable practices.
6. Provide training and guidance to our team on sustainable irrigation practices.
7. Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company standards.
8. Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including government agencies and conservation groups.
9. Prepare and submit reports on environmental sustainability efforts to management and stakeholders.
10. Identify and implement cost-saving measures related to sustainable irrigation practices.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in natural resource management, environmental science, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
3. Knowledge of sustainable irrigation practices and water conservation techniques.
4. Familiarity with state and federal environmental regulations.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and GIS software.
9. Experience with project management and budgeting.
10. Passion for sustainability and preserving our natural resources.
