Description
The Harte Research Institute at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi invites applications for the position of Endowed Chair for Ecosystem Science & Modeling starting Spring 2026.
HRI is a marine research institute emphasizing interdisciplinary research and stakeholder engagement. We seek an ecosystem scientist with a distinguished record of research that addresses pressing environmental issues in marine and coastal ecosystems. We are particularly interested in candidates with strong ecosystem modeling capabilities, although we will consider candidates with expertise in other areas of ecosystem science. Candidates at any career stage are welcome to apply.
Candidates should have a strong record of conducting research and stakeholder engagement supporting policy or management recommendations. The successful candidate will have a nationally recognized research program on issues relevant to the greater Gulf area. This includes a history of publications in peer-reviewed journals. The ideal candidate will show the ability to obtain and manage grants. We are particularly interested in candidates who can collaborate with other HRI experts on a broad scope of projects. As HRI has programs in Cuba and Mexico, international experience is valued. Mentoring graduate students and early career professionals is important to our mission and is encouraged. The position is tenure-eligible.
