Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Mobile Crew Unit is very critical as they are responsible for educating students in schools all around the country. Coastal Wilds takes great pride in helping inspire the youth in conservation with their free school presentations. While traveling you will be visiting elementary and middle schools through out the northeast region from October to April.
Example of duties:
- Teaches outreach programs for schools and community organizations
- Leads birthday parties, as needed.
- Travel up 10 hours or more from facility to teach
- Perform animal care while on road and at facility
- Take quality photos of students
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
- Conduct tours at the facility
Work Schedule:
This position is a full time position requiring 40-50 hours a week. We require you to be willing to travel out of state for the months that our mobile unite operates. The Mobile unit operates October to April. Some holidays may require work hours. In the summer months our mobile crew assists with tours at our facility and school field trips to our facility in late spring and early fall.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelors degree required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- Experience handling and caring for animals, including but not limited to reptiles, psittaciformes, and native wildlife, preferred but not required
- Proficiency with windows operating system, preferred but not required.
- Valid driving license
- Ability to successfully present educational content to adults and children
- Ability to speak before audiences
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in work products and relationships with co-workers
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
- Ability to answer guests questions, professionally and accurately
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods of time (up to 10 hours at a time)
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
