Description
Topographic is seeking an Environmental Intern to join our team. Topographic has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients.

Duties And Responsibilities


  • Assistance with permit drafting for large-scale renewable energy projects under a federal nexus or state regulatory requirement (Environmental Impact Statement, Environmental Assessments, Environmental Assessment Worksheets, Site, and Route Permits, Certificates of Public Convenience, and Necessity, and more).
  • General project assistance for wetland and wildlife field work, report preparation, peer reviews, technical writing guidance, GIS support, and organizational assistance to meet strict deadlines
  • You will work on energy projects, such as transmission, solar, and wind, and land projects, such as residential and commercial development, to compile available information for project proposals.

Required Experience


  • Must be pursuing or have a degree in environmental science, environmental policy, public policy, biology, or a related natural sciences field.
  • Must generally support the environmental team, willing to conduct research and discover environmental conditions.
Physical Requirements: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Mental Demands: The following mental demands are required to perform the essential functions of this job: concentrate, conceptualize, cooperative work with others/teamwork, detailed work, frequent task changes, irregular schedule as needed, learn new tasks, interruptive /distractive environment, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, reasoning, problem solving, time pressures.
