Description
 Located 20 miles south of Kingsville, Texas in the heart of the wild horse desert. Spanning over 200,000 acres in Kenedy county sits The John G. & Marie Stella Kenedy Memorial Foundation Ranch. This opportunity is an entry level position for someone with interest in or pursuing a career in ranching, wildlife, or related field. This very diverse property is the perfect opportunity for an eager intern to learn the basics of a large-scale ranching operation in south Texas. Intern will report directly to ranch manager and or assistant ranch manager for daily and weekly objectives

Task include but not limited to:
Individual Plant Treatment Chemical Brush Control
Operating and Maintaining Equipment for Mechanical Brush Control (Shredding, Discing, Grubbing)
Assist in Cattle Round ups, vaccinating, branding, de-horning, artificially inseminate.
Monitor Cattle conditions, feed, and watering facilities, pasture assessments.
Maintain ranch facilities in good, clean working condition.
Assist in preparing and conducting prescribed burns.
Wildlife data collection
Respond with management to emergencies on the ranch.

Qualifications:
Must be willing to learn and be adaptive in an environment that can bring different and unforeseen things daily. Must be able to work as a team as well as individually. This position is for a self-driven individual with strong work ethic that is trying to make the most out of this opportunity. Basic knowledge of computer programs (Word, Excel, Access) is preferred. Knowledge of mapping programs is a plus. This can be a very rewarding internship if the effort is put forth. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must have valid driver’s license. Submitting an application will be considered permission to conduct a background check. Competitive salary along with paid housing and utilities available on the Ranch. If not living on Ranch, may drive in daily and Ranch vehicle is provided for work while on the ranch.
