Description
Work Description:
Assist in daily operations of a 2,300-acre ranch in South Mississippi. Interns may be asked to help with cattle, wildlife, habitat, and fisheries management practices; heavy equipment use; general lawn care; brush clearing; maintenance, repair, and installation of blinds, and fencing; checking and filling feeders; facilities maintenance; land reclamation; chemical and mechanical brush control; cattle and wildlife techniques; construction; field cultivation; other general ranch/cattle/wildlife work as needed; Applicant must be able to lift 50 lbs. and traverse across rough terrain.
Salary:
$1,600 a month plus housing and utilities; ranch truck provided for work use.
Term:
Early May 2024 / August 2024 (negotiable)
Qualifications:
College students and/or recent graduates in a natural resource, agriculture, or related degree plan. Ideal candidate will be a self-motivated person with a strong work ethic and a ranch background. Applicants should have good people skills. This position may require working hours in adverse weather conditions. Candidates must maintain a valid driver’s license. Applicants are subject to drug screening and background checks.
