Description
Responsibilities include operating within a gatehouse checking in campers on a Point of Sale system, explaining Forest Service policy, and conducting regular patrols within the campground. Strong customer service skills are desired. Recreation programming development may be involved.

Campground patrols and policy enforcement are required as part of the duties.  Must have a valid Drivers License. 

Energy Lake is a recreation-based facility, and the apprenticeship requires a regular schedule,   working most weekends. But will have many opportunities to request leave when so desired. 
 
Throughout this apprenticeship there will be many opportunities to gain federal certifications for equipment such as Chainsaws, UTV/ATV, Tractor, and Trailer, as well as the ability to gain as much experience as desired within the disciplines of choice.
 
This is a great opportunity for any upcoming graduates or recent graduates to gain experience that would prepare them for a career in recreation/trails. At the end of the apprenticeship the apprentice will receive a Public Land Corp (PLC) certification that will greatly help them in pursuing a future position with the federal government.
