 The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources strives to maintain healthy populations of fish and wildlife across the state. The employees of Kentucky Fish and Wildlife are passionate about the resource they manage. The Wildlife Division of Kentucky Fish and Wildlife is currently seeking a candidate to work within the Farm Bill Branch.
 
 This is a grant funded time-limited (GFTL) position. This means it is a position that is paid entirely as the result of a grant.
 
 Responsibilities and job duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
  • The candidate’s main role will be to provide technical assistance and conservation program to private landowners. In addition, staff will also provide wildlife technical support and planning at the NRCS Area Level.
  • The incumbent will work with KDFWR Programs, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) as well as other State and Federal partners to promote, coordinate, and implement wildlife conservation/management across the Commonwealth on private property.
  • Activities will include program promotion (workshops and one on one meetings), conservation planning, contract coordination, conservation plan modification, site assessment and reporting.
Preferred skills may include, but are not limited to the following:
  • A knowledge of the conservation provisions of the Federal Farm Bill.
  • Knowledge of or practical experience with agricultural systems and farming.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with landowners and partner agencies.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision and with diverse clientele.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in a biological science, wildlife biology, fish and wildlife management, conservation biology, natural resources, environmental sciences, or related field.
