Description
The 501(c) 3 non-profit Sustainable Bolivia is looking for individuals interested in conducting field-work at our newly constructed research station in the Bolivian Amazon (Aquicuana Reserve).  Sustainable Bolivia provides a comfortable space, with cabins overlooking the Aquicuana Lake, kitchen, bathrooms, as well as access to our research station with research materials.  Our staff is available to assist with planning your research by providing background information, local contacts/guides as well as in-depth knowledge of the area and the reserve.

Generally speaking researchers will define and conduct their own research and we welcome researchers interested on a wide variety of topics.  Some specific projects include flora inventory of the Aquicuana Reserve, preparation of field guides, analysis of native palm oils, vegetation mapping, mycological inventory, analysis of bird populations - including the native masked antpitta,  biodiversity/environmental research, fish inventory, and ecotourism.  Independent researchers have the chance to work with Dutch-Bolivian research supervisor; Biologist Vincent A. Vos.  He is currently the third most cited researcher in Bolivia and has resided in the area for over 20 years.

Whether you want to do your own research or contribute to some of our ongoing projects, this is truly a unique experience in a biodiverse, culturally-rich region of the world.

To apply, send a brief cover letter and cv/resume to info@sustainablebolivia.org
