Description
Paws Animal Wildlife Sanctuary, Inc. (PAWS) is a volunteer based non-profit organization focusing on wildlife education, rescue and rehabilitation. Due to our many state and federal permits, we have the widest range of wildlife species including raptors, waterfowl, a few songbirds, the usual mammal species (squirrels, rabbits, opossums, skunks, etc.) plus beavers, armadillos, and more, and also including domestic rabbits that have been rescued from crisis situations.
While we do not have a formal intern program, we often have volunteer interns from various colleges in the upstate area of SC that go on to become veterinarians and wildlife biologists. Some of the schools give college credit for the time spent with us. Some of our interns continue their volunteering with us even after their semester is over. We love that! (You do not need to actively be in college to volunteer with us.)
PAWS is looking for volunteers who can come to our facility in Laurens for approximately 4- 6 hours on your scheduled days. You must be at least 18 years of age and have your own transportation. You will train with other volunteers and must be willing to commit to once a week.
For more information (or if you have questions), email us at paws.sc@gmail.com with VOLUNTEER somewhere in the subject line to get an email back with info about us, with an application. Please let us know how you heard about us in your email.
