Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Hunting Guide to join our team at Broomsedge Rod & Gun. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of local game species, hunting techniques, and safety protocols. As a Hunting Guide, you will be responsible for leading guided hunts, ensuring the safety and satisfaction of our guests, and maintaining a high standard of ethical hunting practices.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and guide guests on hunts for upland game birds, waterfowl, whitetail deer, and wild turkey.
  • Provide expert advice on hunting techniques, strategies, and best practices.
  • Ensure the safety of guests, at all times, by adhering to strict safety protocols.
  • Assist guests with preparing game for transport.
  • Maintain knowledge of local wildlife, habitats, and conservation efforts.
  • Operate and maintain hunting and farm equipment, vehicles, and other lodge assets.
  • Provide an educational and enjoyable experience for guests, sharing insights on the local environment and wildlife.
  • Scout and monitor hunting areas to ensure optimal conditions for guests.
  • Assist in habitat management and conservation efforts on lodge property.
  • Collaborate with lodge staff to provide a seamless and high-quality guest experience.
  • Uphold ethical hunting standards and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal hunting regulations.
  • Assist with other shooting sports activities (including, but not limited to, the Five Stand and rifle range).
 
Qualifications:
  • Experience in guiding is preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of local game species, habitats, and hunting seasons.
  • Strong understanding of hunting safety and ethical practices.
  • Ability to operate and maintain hunting equipment and vehicles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to navigate rough terrain.
  • Valid hunting license and certifications as required by state law.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
  • A passion for the outdoors, wildlife conservation, and providing exceptional guest experiences.
