Description
The position being offered is for a full-time manager responsible for overseeing a 1700-acre private hunting ranch located 60 miles south of Dallas Texas. 
 
The ideal candidate will have experience in Ranch Management and preferably a degree in wildlife management or a related field. The candidate should be an outgoing, motivated, respectful individual who values family and nature. That individual must be willing to try new ideas while incorporating the proven principles of Wildlife Management. This candidate should expect to work independently as well as alongside the ranch owner and wildlife biologist(s). It is expected that the candidate will be professional and welcoming to all guests. The candidate should also encompass the characteristics of being organized, detail oriented and forward thinking. 
 
The candidate will be responsible for the full management of all aspects of the ranch including, but not limited to the implementation of the existing Wildlife Management Program, Property Maintenance, Management of Capital Improvements as well as Equipment Operation and Upkeep. The occasional guiding for Deer, Ducks, Hogs, Dove and Quail will be required. Management duties will also include the keeping of Logs and records related to equipment maintenance, food plot planting and harvest recording. It is also expected that the candidate will establish a working relationship with the Texas Parks & Wildlife Biologist, NRCS and all Pipeline Companies present on the ranch.
 
Wildlife management duties will include conducting Camera Surveys, Maintaining Wildlife Harvest Logs, Food Plot Planting, Prescribed Burn Scheduling, Invasive Vegetation Control, Ranch upkeep and the implementation of proven wildlife management techniques. It is also expected that the manager will make improvements to the multiple Duck Impoundments and Habitat that is currently in place. 
 

Additional Ranch Position Requirements include but are not limited to:
 
- Previous Ranch work experience.
- Computer Skills are required. 
- Must be in good health and capable of heavy physical work.
- Must be a self starter and able to work independently as well as along side others. 
- Ability to Maintain and perform basic repairs on ranch equipment, including basic welding.
- Capable of performing regular preventative maintenance and upkeep of Vehicles, Ranch Equipment and the Owners Lodge.
- The safe operation of tractors, skid steer, backhoes and other basic equipment, including implements.
- The candidate will be required to have a clean driving record and remain Drug Free and Alcohol Free at all times when on premises or when operating any ranch vehicles or equipment.
- Must be trustworthy with no criminal record or convictions and willing to undergo and investigative background check
